Knox & Kane Railcar # 604 Info & Gallery

        Following the demise of the Knox & Kane Railroad, the Beaver-Lawrence Railway Historical Society purchased the K&K's excursion car #604 at auction. Built on the frame of PRR caboose 980604, the car had church pew seats and no roof when it ran on the Penn View Mountain RR in Blairsville, PA. A roof was added later. The 604 moved to Gettysburg, then underwent extensive renovations before continuing its service on the K&K.

        After purchasing the car, BLRHS members spent several months planning and preparing for its move from Marienville, PA to its new home in New Castle, PA. The move took place on May 4, 2009.

It's been a long day and 604 is now resting behind a CSXT box car.

After spending a few days in the shop for some minor repairs, the former K&K 604 received a fresh coat of paint in August 2009.
 

New color scheme applied after the 604 car was renovated.
