The Beaver-Lawrence Railway Historical Society joined in the
Darlington Days celebration in Darlington, PA on May 31 & June 1, 2008.
The highlight of our participation was the opportunity to ride our
Fairmont
speeder car.

A Fire Truck that was built for WWII (WW2) that was supposed to be on a
carrier but the war ended & it never got to the carrier. |
Since the war ended, it was sold to a steel
mill instead. I believe it was ARMCO Steel Co. in Ambridge, Pa. if I can
remember right. By the 60's, it was just sitting there in the mill. By the
late 70's, the mill was on it's last legs, so a employee asked for it and
was told to get it out of there. He has since restored it, and this is how
it looks today. He told us that this is all original the equipment on it.
Amazing after all of these years. |
